Sam Elias: Wywiad dla MyWrestling

Samuel Polinsky, to profesjonalny wrestler, który aktualnie występuje na scenie niezależnej jako Samuel Elias. W 2011 roku podpisał kontrakt z federacją World Wrestling Entertainment i rozpoczął trening w Florida Championship Wrestling, lecz w tym samym roku WWE pożegnało się z wrestlerem w wyniku urazu jakiego się nabawił. Od tamtej pory Samuel regularnie występuje dla europejskich federacji, a ostatnio dla jednej z najstarszej federacji na świecie CMLL, której siedziba znajduje się w Meksyku. Warto również dodać, że 24 kwietnia 2016 roku pojawił się na Impact Wrestling, gdzie został pokonany przez debiutującego Braxtona Suttera. Jego brat Corey Graves pracuje w WWE jako komentator.

MyWrestling: Dziękuję za wywiad, Sam. Jak się masz?

Sam Elias: Bardzo dobrze. Odpoczywam dzisiaj.

MyWrestling: Może na początek, dla fanów którzy ”mogli nie mieć z tobą styczności” mógłbyś opisać kilka informacji dotyczących twojej osoby?

Sam Elias: Jestem najlepszym wrestlerem, o którym na pewno słyszałeś!! Mam 8-letnie doświadczenie. Jestem o wiele bardziej doświadczony niż większość niezależnych wrestlerów. Stosuję klasyczny styl z lat 80-tych i wygłaszam najlepsze proma w wrestlingu.

MyWrestling: Kiedy rozpoczęła się twoja przygoda z pro-wrestlingiem? W 2008 roku zadebiutowałeś na scenie pro wrestlingu. Czy od tego momentu zmieniło się coś w wrestlingu? Czy mogłeś liczyć na wsparcie ze strony rodziny? Przez kogo zostałeś przeszkolony? Czy ktoś miał wpływ na twoją karierę?

Sam Elias: Mój tata był promotorem, a mój brat to Corey Graves z WWE. On mnie przeszkolił. Moja rodzina od samego początku popierała moją karierę jako wrestlera…Niestety wrestling nie uległ zbytniej poprawie. Czuję, że obecnie umiera i jest niszczony od wewnątrz. Zbyt wielu fanów staje się wrestlerem. Żałuję, że nie było mnie w tej branży około 30 lat temu, ponieważ teraźniejszy wrestling nie jest tym, który znałem i kochałem.

MyWrestling: Skąd wziął się pomysł na twój ring name „Heartbreaker”?

Sam Elias: Mój szef w Wielkiej Brytanii nadał mi go. On jest starym promotorem, robił to przez ostatnie 46 lat. Jestem pewien, że miał wielu ”Heartbreakers”, ale teraz tu w Meksyku używam nazwy ”El Rudo De Las Chicas”, którą wymyśliłem sam.

MyWrestling: Czy pamiętasz swój pierwszy pojedynek? Kiedy i w jakiej organizacji debiutowałeś?

Sam Elias: Tak to było w firmie mojego taty. To była droga inna niż obrałem obecnie. To nie był profesjonalizm. Byłem gruby i jeszcze nie gotowy. Ale to zainspirowało mnie do ciężkiej pracy i dotarcia do poziomu, który aktualnie prezentuje.

MyWrestling: Czy mógłbyś wymienić i opisać swój ulubiony pojedynek, w którym miałeś okazję wystąpić?

Sam Elias: James Mason i Blue Panther to dwójka najlepszych wrestlerów z jakimi kiedykolwiek pracowałem w ringu. Nie wierzę, żeby nie było w WWE wrestlerów zbliżonych do ich poziomu. Są doceniani i wysoko opłacani. Ale moje inne ulubione pojedynki miały miejsce we włoskiej federacji NWE, a także na meksykańskiej arenie.

MyWrestling: Jak Ci się pracowało w All Star Wrestling? Mógłbyś przybliżyć nam historię twojego pobytu w tej federacji?

Sam Elias: Uwielbiam All Star Wrestling. Myślę, że wszyscy nasi wrestlerzy są na najwyższym poziomie i gdybyśmy mieli więcej czasu w tv, to z pewnością nasza pozycja w branży byłaby znacznie lepsza. Każdego dnia jestem dumny z tego czego nauczyłem się w All Star, zrobili ze mnie wrestlera jakim jestem dzisiaj. Wszystkie gwiazdy odnosiły sukces tutaj w Meksyku.

MyWrestling: Z kim masz najlepszy kontakt w wrestling?

Sam Elias: Mam wiele dobrych kontaktów w wrestlingu. Meksyk, Japonia, WWE, Puerto Rico. Mam wielu bliskich przyjaciół, a także dość dobrą reputację w tej branży.

MyWrestling: W 2011 roku byłeś w WWE. W jaki sposób do tego doszło? Dlaczego nie zadebiutowałeś w rozwojówce? Dlaczego zostałeś zwolniony?

Sam Elias: Podpisałem kontrakt z WWE, gdy byłem młodym talentem z dużym potencjałem. Zostałem zwolniony z powodu kontuzji kolana i dlatego, że psychicznie nie byłem gotowy, by tam być. W tym czasie byłem zbyt niedoświadczony, aby tam przebywać dłużej, ale to było wspaniałe doświadczenie, dzięki któremu wiele się nauczyłem.

MyWrestling: Rozumiem trochę to smutne, że z powodu kontuzji zostałeś zwolniony. Najważniejsze, że się nie poddałeś.

Sam Elias: Byłem szczęśliwy. Mając WWE w swoim życiorysie otworzyły się przede mną nowe możliwości. A fakt, że mój brat nadal jest związany z tą firmą mi bardzo pomaga. Jestem przekonany, że moja relacja z WWE nie jest zakończona.

MyWrestling: Powiedz mi, czy jest możliwość abyś w przyszłości powrócił do WWE? Co możesz nam powiedzieć o swojego brata, który pracuje w WWE? Twój brat również odniósł kontuzję. Niestety przez nią nie może występować w ringu. Twoim zdaniem jak ocenisz jego pracę jako komentator?

Sam Elias: Mam nadzieję, że będę mógł wrócić tam chociaż na jeden dzień, ale jestem bardzo dumny z mojego brata. To była smutna wiadomość dla mnie, kiedy zostałem zmuszony do przejścia na emeryturę, ponieważ wielokrotnie chciałem z nim współpracować. On jest teraz w doskonałym miejscu i mam nadzieję, że będzie kiedyś komentował moje walki i w przyszłości będzie częścią mojej kariery.

MyWrestling: Mam nadzieję, że kiedyś będę mógł zobaczyć Cię w WWE.

Sam Elias: Dzięki. Też mam taką nadzieję.

MyWrestling: 24 kwietnia 2016 roku wystąpiłeś na Impact Wrestling, gdzie twoim rywalem był Braxton Sutter. Co możesz nam powiedzieć o pojedynku z nim? Czy w przyszłości będziesz pracował dla tej federacji?

Sam Elias: To była jednorazowa przysługa dla mojego przyjaciela. Chętnie mógłbym pracować dla nich ponownie, ale obecnie to nie jest częścią moich planów.

MyWrestling: Obecnie występujesz w Consejo Mundial De Lucha Libre. Opowiedz nam coś o tej federacji. Dlaczego Meksyk?

Sam Elias: To najstarsza promocja w wrestlingu na świecie. Talenty tam otrzymują najwyższe standardy życiowe. Fakt, że pracuję tu czyni mnie dumnym i pewnym swych umiejętności wrestlerem.

MyWrestling: Czym różni się wrestling w Stanach Zjednoczonych od wrestlingu w Meksyku?

Sam Elias: Istnieje wiele różnic pomiędzy amerykańskim wrestlingiem, a Lucha Libre, ale najbardziej godne uwagi jest tempo. W Lucha jest znacznie szybsze.

MyWrestling: Jakie są twoje najbliższe cele?

Sam Elias: Moim celem jest stać się najlepszym wrestlerem na planecie i mieć pod sobą cały świat wiem to!

MyWrestling: Czy jest coś co chciałbyś powiedzieć czytelnikom MyWrestling?

MyWrestling: Thank you for interview, Sam. How are you?

Sam Elias: Very good. Relaxing today.

MyWrestling: For those who dont know you how would you describe yourself?

Sam Elias: I am the best wrestler you’ve never heard of!! I have 8 years experience in more countries than most. I am far more experienced Than most independent talent. I am a classic 80s style heel and I am confident as one of the best promos in wrestling.

MyWrestling: How did you get your start in professional wrestling? As you debuted in 2008, how do you believe that the wrestling scene has improved? What does your family think of your wrestling career? Please tell us who trained you? Who influenced you to become a wrestler?

Sam Elias: My dad was a promoter and my brother is Corey Graves from WWE. He trained me. My family has always been very supportive of my career.. and I don’t believe wrestling has improved at all. I feel like it is dying and being destroyed from within. Too many fans becoming wrestlers are leading to smaller crowds and less money. I wish I was around 30 years ago because today’s wrestling isn’t the wrestling I know and love.

MyWrestling: Where did the idea for your ring name „Heartbreaker”?

Sam Elias: My boss in the UK gave me that. He is an old time promoter for the last 46 years. I’m sure he’s had plenty „heartbreakers” but now here in mexico I use „el rudo de las chicas” which I came up with myself.

MyWrestling: Do you remember your first outing as a wrestler? When and where you started at organization?

Sam Elias: Yeah it was for my dad’s company. It was way different than now. I was not professional. I was fat and not ready. But it inspired me to work hard and get to my level I’m at today.

MyWrestling: Please tell us what some of your favourite matches have been from your career.

Sam Elias: James Mason and Blue Panther are the 2 best wrestlers I’ve ever been in the ring with. I don’t believe there’s any wrestlers in the wwe even close to their levels. They’re under appreciated and under paid. But my other favorite matches have been in Italy for NWE and Main Eventing arena Mexico is pretty special.

MyWrestling: How do you cooperate in All Star Wrestling? You could bring the history of your stay in the federation?

Sam Elias: I love all star wrestling. I think all of our guys are supremely under rated and if we had a tv deal we would be a major player in the world of wrestling. I’m proud every day of what I’ve learned in All Star and it has made me the wrestler I am today. Because of all star I’ve been able to have success here in Mexico.

MyWrestling: Who do you have the best contact in wrestling?

Sam Elias: I have many contacts in wrestling. Mexico, Japan, WWE, Puerto Rico. I have many close friends and I’d say I have a pretty good reputation as a whole inside the wresting business.

MyWrestling: In 2011, you were in WWE. How did this happen? Why not you debut in developmental? Why you were fired?

Sam Elias: I got signed because I was a young talent with a lot of potential. I got released because of a knee injury and because mentally I wasn’t ready to be there. I was too inexperienced at the time but it was a great experience where i learned a lot.

MyWrestling: I understand a little bit sad that because of the injury have been released. The main thing that is not given up.

Sam Elias: I’ve been lucky. Having wwe on my resume has presented me with opportunities. And the fact that my brother is still with the company and very prosperous. I am confident that my relationship with wwe is not terminated.

MyWrestling: Tell me, is it possible that in the future you returned to WWE? What can you tell us about your brother, who works in the WWE? Your brother also suffered an injury. Unfortunately, it may not be in the ring. In your opinion, how will you assess his work as a commentator?

Sam Elias: I hope to return one day but I’m very proud of my brother. It was sad for me when he was forced to retire because I wanted a career full of many matches with him but he’s in a great spot now and I hope he can commentate my matches and be a big part of my career in the future.

MyWrestling: I hope that someday I will be able to see you in the WWE.

Sam Elias: Thanks man. I hope so too.

MyWrestling: 24 April 2016 your appearance on Impact Wrestling, where your rival was Braxton Sutter. What can you tell us about the duel with him? In the future you will be working for the federation?

Sam Elias: That was a one time favor for a friend. I would happily work for them again but it’s not part of my plans as of this moment.

MyWrestling: He is currently starring in Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre. Tell us something about the federation.

Sam Elias: It’s the oldest Wrestling promotion in the world. They hold their talent to the high standard possible. The fact that I work here makes me proud and confident in my ability.

MyWrestling: What’s different about wrestling in the United States of wrestling in Mexico?

Sam Elias: There are tons of differences between American wrestling and lucha libre but most noteworthy is the pace. Lucha is much faster.

MyWrestling: What are your goals?

Sam Elias: My goal is to be the best wrestler on the planet and have the whole world know it!
